¿Por qué en la UANDES?
- La malla de Literatura UANDES se basa en una sólida formación en literatura universal, que incluye literatura española, hispanoamericana y chilena.
- Aprendizaje a través de la lectura directa de más de 300 obras literarias de los cuatro géneros de producción literaria occidental: lírica, teatro, prosa y ensayo.
- Formación en lengua castellana, gramática, latín y lingüística.
- Docencia e investigación de alto nivel, con profesores expertos en las lenguas que están escritas las obras que enseñan.
- Especial cercanía entre profesores y alumnos, así como la posibilidad de integrarse a proyectos de investigación de los académicos del Instituto y una muy rica vida de estudio paralela a la malla.
Perfil de egreso
El Licenciado en Literatura se destacará por su competencia profesional, compromiso ético y vocación de servicio a la sociedad. Contará con una formación rigurosa y amplia en Literatura Clásica, Universal, Española, Hispanoamericana y Chilena, así como en otras tradiciones literarias. Estos conocimientos se desarrollarán a través del estudio, análisis y crítica de los textos que constituyen los pilares fundamentales de la disciplina. Poseerá una sólida base en Teoría Literaria y Estética, lo que le permitirá comprender en profundidad diversos enfoques en torno a las obras y sus autores, así como analizar críticamente las obras desde una perspectiva formal y estética. Además, los cursos de Gramática y Lingüística le permitirán dominar el español culto formal en sus formas oral y escrita, competencia que se afianzará mediante un sistema de evaluación centrado en la producción textual. Dominará también la Lengua Latina en un nivel intermedio. Desarrollará habilidades para la investigación autónoma, orientada a la generación de nuevo conocimiento y al crecimiento profesional continuo.
Como complemento a su formación disciplinar, estudiará Antropología, Ética y Teología, para comprender la historia de las ideas y su propia cultura. Asimismo, podrá profundizar en Escritura Creativa o en una ciencia o disciplina distinta de la suya mediante un Minor de libre elección.

La carrera de Literatura cuenta con 44 convenios de intercambios semestrales en 19 países del mundo (Alemania, Argentina, Asia Pacífico, Australia, Bolivia, Brasil, Corea, Costa Rica, España, Estados Unidos, Filipinas, Francia, Guatemala, Israel, Italia, Japón, México, Portugal y Reino Unido).
