What School offers the program?

The Bachelor of Science in International Business is offered by the School of Business and Economics of the Universidad de los Andes.

How long is the program?

This is an 8-semester program in which you obtain the BSIB degree. Study two more semesters and you obtain the Ingeniería Comercial title.

What does it mean that International Business is oriented towards international businesses?
It means that, the fast-paced development of communication technologies has increased globalization, which in turn has fostered the internationalization of businesses. In this scenario, future professionals that see themselves working in an international environment require different skills and knowledge compared to those offered by traditional Ingeniería Comercial programs.

What is a bachelor’s degree?

A bachelor’s degree is the equivalent to a licenciatura in Chile and is obtained after studying 8 semesters. This degree allows graduates to continue studying master’s programs in Chile or abroad. Graduates may also continue studying two more semesters and obtain the Ingeniería Comercial title.

What are the requisites to apply to the International Business programs?
Approve the English Language Proficiency Assessment test. This test will be offered by the School of Business and Economics during the months of September, October, and November 2021. Obtain a PDT weighted score of 600 points or more and an average PDT score of 600 points or more.

What does the application process look like?
There are two ways to apply to the program. Through centralized admission managed by DEMRE, in which students take the PDT test. And through the special admission programs offered by the Universidad de los Andes. In both cases applicants must take the English test before applying.

How many seats are available in the International Business program?
The program has 25 seats available.

What is the enrollment cut score in the International Business program?

The program will open for the first time in March 2021. Thus, there are no previous PDT enrollment cut scores. To apply to the program, you must obtain a PDT weighted score of 600 points or more and an average PDT score of 600 points or more.

How many internships does International Business have?
The program considers two internships, a basic one and a professional one. The professional internship lasts for 6 months and may be completed at a company in another country or at a local company with international operations.
